About Us
American Pawn is a family-owned and operated pawn shop that began in 1992; we were started by Joel and Mia Wallace. Initially, we were a small store specializing in buying and selling jewelry and small electronics. Through the years, we have grown into a full-service pawn store. Now, we offer a variety of specialty services such as tax refund services, refund anticipation loans, and diamond wholesaling.
American Pawn is always happy to search for a hard to find item and provides loans on most items of value. Our company works with new and estate jewelry. Our subsidiary company, Heirloom Diamonds, offers wholesale pricing on large and small quality diamonds. Joel holds a diamonds grading certificate from GIA, which is the company considered to set the standards for the industry. In addition, we are members of the National Pawnbrokers Association and Louisiana Pawnbroker Association.
Company Policies
Customers must be 18 years or older to pawn, sell, or trade with our company. We require valid picture ID for all transactions. We report all acquisitions to the police. We maintain all required licenses and insurance. We are an equal opportunity employer.
